About the Foundation
The Hedera Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing impactful educational assistance, social services, and support programs to communities within Coweta & Fayette Counties. Alpha Kappa Alpha established foundations to create a dedicated, tax- exempt means of funding scholarships, lifelong learning, community service and other public-benefit programs. Established in June 2015 and incorporated shortly thereafter, the Foundation has worked in partnership with community volunteers to support scholarships, youth empowerment, health initiatives and family resources programs.
Presently, Mrs. Brenda Andrews is President and CEO of The Hedera Foundation, Incorporated, and Mrs. Triscia Hendrickson is Vice President. Under their leadership, the Foundation continues to thrive by investing in young scholars and strengthening nonprofit and community-based organizations. Their commitment reflects a legacy of service, hope, and lasting community impact.
A Message from Our President & CEO
Through strategic collaborative efforts, The Hedera Foundation delivers a broad range of programs, including scholarships for students pursuing higher education; youth empowerment initiatives that foster leadership and personal growth; health and wellness programs that promote preventative care; and family support resources designed to enhance overall quality of life.
Because of supporters like you, The Hedera Foundation is able to fund critical initiatives such as weekend meal programs for local elementary students—helping to address food insecurity and ensure children return to school ready to learn. We also invest in educational leadership development programs that nurture confidence, inspire ambition, and inspire young people to become future leaders in their communities.
Your generosity does more than provide funding. It creates opportunity, restores hope, and transforms lives. Thank you for believing in our mission and for partnering with The Hedera Foundation to build stronger, healthier, and more empowered communities.
